ABOUT US
The
Celebrate Claremont Family Festival invites people from
all walks of life to enjoy the ambiance of the Claremont
Village mid-week. On Claremont Wednesdays from 5-8 p.m.,
visitors can do everything from shopping for organic
produce and gifts to eating, to affording their children
time to learn and recreate.
The
Festival is sponsored by the non-profit charitable
organization
Volunteer Network and it's benefactor project
Xela
Aid. All who participate in the Festival help fund
important services for those much less fortunate, with
one hundred percent of net proceeds going to support
vital health and education programs.
Benefactor Project Xela Aid -- Over the past 17
years,
Xela Aid has provided life-enriching opportunities
to thousands of adults and youth who have come from
throughout the United States and abroad to join its
service projects in Guatemala. Xela Aid has facilitated
more than 700 volunteers traveling abroad to serve the
critical needs of Mayan families in the Guatemalan
highlands.
Locally, our partners have included Pitzer College,
Harvey Mudd College, Claremont United Church of Christ,
and others. More than 100 Claremont residents have
accompanied us on these projects, and two members of the
Claremont community serve on our Xela Aid Board of
Directors. We are pleased that the Festival's
cross-promotion of the
Claremont Farmers & Artisans Market, the
Green Market,
Village Venture and additional local events support
other Claremont non-profit organizations and
commerce City-wide.
We hope
you'll visit our websites to learn more about the
charitable work we do, and most of all, that you'll come
out and enjoy the Festival and encourage your friends
and family to do the same!
